I enter a world of whirling images and emotions. So vivid and gut wrenching -- BRAVO❣️

"A wish is something my heart makes when you sing
about how the light weeps through the gauze
of the leaves when it falls."

The way you start this poem with the “That one? / Oh, you noticed.” is genius; it really draws you in and makes you feel more like an active participant in a conversation than a passive reader. I really had the feeling you were telling me a secret. Wonderfully done!

‘the way my speech breaks’ says everything, no need for tears when silence does the bleeding. Love how you fold up the bravado. #KeepWriting #PoemsAbout #ImperfectMe

Carolyn -- what a terrific juxtaposition of the words "perfect" and "imperfect" throughout the poem -- zigzagging playfully across the page but oh so serious! 🔥🔥🔥
poetryforce.bsky.social
Jane -- such a short and concise poem that really catches the essence of our imperfections -- so beautiful❣️

John -- this poem catches the complex emotions between a father and son so honestly and direct.

Paul -- you catch one's inner struggles so perfectly in this poem. 👏👏👏

This is bold spadework, indeed. Thank you for a powerful sharing. The final line, so effective. And love the "scares" and "scars" parallel here. 💥

Great setup with the visible scar, really adding a punch with the second half. The background, too, excellent choice!

This is great, Erich. The movement from the visible to the invisible - seemless and achingly powerful

‘like a savage butchery of war, were still strangely perfect’ is chilling. You expose how violence & beauty collide in these fragments.

Oh, I love this poem...it is powerful! The imagery is an explosion in my mind! I love the lines, "savage butchery of war," "strangely perfect, though just pieces!" And the strong turn at the end...so, so, good!
