Not a fan of J. Kenji López-Alt's suggestion to put a tiny amount of cinnamon in the cranberry sauce. I think the issue is that comfort food depends a lot on what you grew up with, and any deviation from that is "HEY, this isn't what I like!!"

He is not, in fact, too old to jump on the bed. He is just lazy and pretends to be a sad crippled old animal so that I will pick up his 90-pound ass and put him on the bed
