From where I sit, one of the largest contributors to the dumbing down of society is the paywalling of cutting edge and recent research and knowledge. It reminds me of the priests and elites being the only ones who could read the bible in latin to the masses.

Even less for our humanity.

Migrants moving to your local area is not a “legitimate reason” for racism.

LGBT folk being more visible in schools is not a “legitimate reason” for homo/transphobia.

Women not wanting to date you is not a “legitimate reason” for misogyny.

There’s no “legitimate reason” for bigotry.

Just saying.

Was asked why I don’t like generative AI visuals and text:

They're redundant, were before they were made.

What they generate isn't new and it isn't art.

It's imitation of the work of people who possess skill.

If anyone said “white supremecy and Nazism has to end” few if anyone would think “they want to exterminate all the white people.”

But the second anyone says “Zionism” or “Jewish Supremacy” all of a sudden the Jewish supremecists and Zionists pretend that “they want to exterminate all the Jews.”

Here is my peace plan for Ukraine/Russia.

1. Russia gets the fuck out of Ukraine.

2. Putin goes on trial in the Hague.

3. Russia pays everyone for everything.

4. Trump gets impeached, convicted, and sent to jail.

Thanks for your attention to this matter.

So disappointing, so badly needed.

One has to ask, "WHY"?

if there’s one lesson for progressives from the MAGA decade, it’s that they shouldn’t be tricked into being the defenders of institutions by virtue of polarisation.

Public trust is not earned by telling people they should trust things, it’s by making something or someone worth trusting
“What I don’t understand is why some Democrats are hopping on this bandwagon. They may believe the Epstein file release will hurt Trump. But they are undermining public trust and sowing public cynicism in ways that make the entire progressive project impossible.“

I met Alice through #Disbility twitter when it was completely new to me but our communities were still together there.
Alice had zero ego. She is friendly, compassionate, a force of nature.

We had fun convos, hard convos. She was really good at giving advice, listening.

The ongoing genocide is conclusive evidence that the “cursed promise” was not a page that turned, but a continuous project of destruction and erasure. It is time for justice to erase this promise from humanity’s memory. #auspol #Palestine

You don’t have to mourn war criminals. You don’t have to issue condolences to their families.
You don’t have to launder their legacies.

Save your grief for the innocents they killed, maimed or tortured without ever seeing justice served to their executioners.
