My thoughts are with Palestinian, Muslim, Jewish, and First Peoples this week. These ripples of disruption and hate caused by a war criminal & génocidaire walking freely on Country (in places where multiple massacres, terror & genocides of First Peoples have occurred since 1788) is very traumatic

What you learn from studying the Holocaust:
Genocide is bad.

Don't be a bystander.
“In a time of atrocity we have an obligation *not* to be a bystander.
And I learned that from Holocaust education.

So yes, I’ll be at the protest against Herzog’s visit” @davemilbo.bsky.social #SundayShot #auspol

From early founders to current leaders, these quotes highlight the rhetoric behind the conflict. Documentation is the first step toward understanding.

Vale Jon Kudelka; not many better at summing up the issues of the day with great brevity and wit, but also with such vivid, arresting images. A true master of his art.

Very sad news about Jon Kudelka.

He wrote this last year about what really matters.

Lessons from political cartooning
After being diagnosed with an inoperable glioblastoma, The Saturday Paper’s editorial cartoonist took time to consider what really matters – and it is not politics.

Been going back through my many Twitter DMs with Jon Kudelka. He used to send me draft cartoons, generally expressing dismay that they were any good despite their absolute brilliance

You know, it’s just possible to feel really bad about the violent deaths of Israeli Jews, the genocide in Palestine and the deaths of Australian Jews all while being neither anti-Semitic or Islamophobic.

Somehow that has become impossible for the political class.

the police presence at Town Hall is unfuckingbelievable. They are deep inside the station, stopping and searching people at the top of the stairs from the platform. Absolutely off the charts I have never seen anything like it and I have protested for over 40 years.

"This visit will be healing" they said. "It will bring social cohesion" they said.

I wonder what our intelligence services said.

When did authoritarianism ever lead to 'social cohesion'?
2/ In the name of s0ciAL c0HeSi0n, Mr Lapid -- along with Mr Albanese, Mr Minns, & Mr Herzog -- may yet enjoy the site of Bad Jews being brutalised by NSW (& VIC) Police; & thus witness yet another blow being struck against 'antisemitism'.

😀👍

This one goes out to the Australian government. Also, Minns, and the moronry in QLD with their performative authoritarian anti-free speech, anti-protest, anti-writers carry-on.

I think I'll feel more able to be 'socially cohesive' once the mass murder genocider leaves. Until then, I feel like everything is... fragile.
