Some people who work on the railroad have an embarrassingly flawed understand of how a railroad works. We should, whenever possible, reduce human factors and sub in deterministic systems.

My car equipment told me curves keep eating his wheels so I asked how many wheels he has and he said he just goes to the US Steel and gets new wheels afterwards so I said it sounds like he’s just feeding wheels to curves and then his maintenance of way started crying.

I find myself annoyed at an organization for communicating the magnitude of a minor success in a dishonest way while failing to communicate much of the real success happening behind the scenes. This isn't how we build trust in government, and certainly not how we reward good work within govt. Sigh.
