So in other words, data scrubbers like DeleteMe only work well to keep “amateur” doxxers from finding your info but companies like Thomson Reuters still have the full picture of your data for use by governments.

I was giving a lecture and keynote wasn’t playing my video and instead of restarting my computer, I spent 10 min telling students about how often times file types are just secretly zip files and if you rename a .key to .zip you can just open it up and find a video and play it using any video player

Agghh this makes me so sad. The ruby community was so special and now it has been functionally taken over by techno fascists (DHH, Shopify). How can we build and sustain open source infrastructure that isn’t beholden to capitalism?

I love to see this! I also love that anywhere I am in Barcelona, I can usually hail a taxi quickly. It was sad to see the death of taxis in Chicago and frustrating to find a cab in Chicago only to have the driver refuse to use the meter and charge Uber rates

I saw a man wander out into a bike lane while looking at his phone and get run over by a cyclist on a bicing. This happened 7m from me. I'm pretty sure he will have a concussion. Be careful out there! I think that goes double for cyclists. They are the ones with the most "power" in these situations
