In short, we just watched the US put a gun to its head and commit the equivalent of hegemonic suicide on the world stage. Nothing will be the same ever again.

Boy, is this a pet peeve of mine. Regular working class people can know poetry, too! Stop treating us all like ignorant morons

There are many things wrong with college football right now, but Indiana winning the national title makes up for a lot of it.
January 20, 2026 at 4:30 AM
That really is impressive.
What makes this even more remarkable for Indiana:

- vs. Illinois
- at Iowa
- at Oregon
- at Penn State
- vs. Ohio State in Indy
- vs. Alabama in Pasadena
- vs. Oregon again in Atlanta
- vs. Miami in Miami

Only the Illinois game was in Bloomington. And OSU is only a 3-hour drive from Indy.

Indiana now being the owner of "most recent undefeated seasons" in both football and men's basketball absolutely absurd

I mean what the FUCK

It's so beautiful.
Miami lost three games this season and their last offensive play of each one of them was a Carson Beck interception

Americans, to every self-righteous European on social media blithely sweeping their entire history under the rug....

I truly believe that the average American genuinely has good morals/values, but they simply have *zero* ability abstract these correctly into political policies, understand what a policy does/does not, or even understand what the self stated policies of the parties actually are.

It is not lost on me that the only member of Game Day to pick Indiana, the official team of CFBSky, was Pat McAfee.

A big part of why we are at where we are is that much of the world, the press, foreign leaders, a big hunk of US voters, simply refused to believe it when Democrats said Trump would be as bad as he is.

"Surrender" is not a slip of the tongue.
Senior White House official says local and state police in Minneapolis “have been ordered to stand down and surrender.”

What?

i think this MLK day the thing to focus on is the strategic focus and tactical brilliance of the civil rights movement and the way it was laser focused on a set of achievable goals

Caleb ran 20 yards backwards and threw it off his back foot... and the guy was wide open in the end zone.

How the fuck did that happen?

I'm agnostic on going for it on 4th, but I hate dishonest arguments.

The Bears are 1 for 3 on 4th downs today. If they had kicked every time, it is likely they would be up 12-10 right now AND their QB wouldn't have the likely broken finger he incurred on one of those failed attempts.
If the Bears had kicked field goals on their fourth downs, they'd had six points instead of the seven they have going 1-for-2 and they'd be trailing.

Glad the takeaway from the halftime crew is to kick always.

Bureaucracy is boring but it truly is amazing how well our government worked despite basically being under siege since 1980.
For some reason, very few people these days will stand up and say it, but: the US federal bureaucracy is one of the great wonders of the world, staffed with incredibly diligent people who do their jobs well and care deeply.

Trump's destruction of the federal apparaus was a historic crime.

I think my favorite part of the double catch INT was the announcers being so casual about it and pretending that it was a completely obvious call. TONY ROMO was the voice of reason and seemed like he was about to lose his mind over the call but he got muzzled.
