Unlike you, I can read and that’s why I know what the constitution says.
Trump on Ilhan Omar: "I look at somebody who comes from Somalia...and she comes in and tells us how to run our country. 'The Constitution says this, the Constitution says that.' The whole thing is crazy."

Secondly. the Phantom Menace sucks so much.
Finally, I do think Jar Jar gets a bad rap. He's not the reason why the movie sucks so much. But oh God, does it suck.

Lucy promises to let Charlie Brown kick the football in December.
Whoa -- Sen. Durbin went to up Leader Thune during the vote last night to tell him that on the shutdown vote and ACA promise that "8 of us are sticking our neck out that you're going to keep your word. I hope you will. He said 'I assure you I will,'" Durbin says just now

Watched HUNDREDS OF BEAVERS last night and enjoyed its zany, silent movie adjacent style.
But man... that movie had no business being two hours long.

it's funny that Trump is the only guy who can take a cave and make it into a even Greater L
Trump to air traffic controllers: "For those that did nothing but complain, and took time off, even though everyone knew they would be paid, IN FULL, shortly into the future, I am NOT HAPPY WITH YOU. You didn’t step up to help the U.S.A. against the FAKE DEMOCRAT ATTACK"

Yeah, this is clearly an argument FOR Schumer. He gets credit for holding the cowards in line for that long if half his caucus wanted to roll over.
"actually there were like twenty D senators who secretly wanted to cave"
wow seems like you must think Chuck Schumer did a pretty good job keeping people onside this long then?

John Marshall has a petty sober take on the cave, and I largely agree with it. To take it a step further, we are watching the old Democratic Party die, and that takes a little time. But it is dying, and this will accelerate it.

Honestly, even worse, I think it's 1.5. He thinks its a bad deal and voted against it, but he also was so rattled that he allowed his whip to negotiate a surrender that still gave him plausible deniability.
One of two things is true:
1. Chuck Schumer genuinely felt this is a bad deal, so he voted against it, but he couldn't keep Senate Dems in line because he's a lackluster leader.
OR
2. Chuck Schumer orchestrated the shutdown deal w/ retiring Dems because he's a bad strategist and got rattled.

I'm surprised that the USC band learned a second song.
On Friday, Mick Fleetwood surprised fans by playing “Tusk” with the Trojan Marching Band. But Dr. Bartner, the 85-year-old band director who helped bring it to life and earned USC two platinum, albums also surprised Mick. Inside the very L.A. story of the iconic “Tusk.”

'It's our tune': How Fleetwood Mac worked with the USC Marching Band to create 'Tusk'
The idea initially sounded so far-fetched band directors thought it was a prank. But the collaboration became a sensation.

I don't care how Schumer himself votes. The bottom line is that as Senate Majority Leader, Lyndon Johnson would have last night had on his desk eight sealed mason jars with the severed hands of every senator who even thought about raising them to vote yes. As a majority leader should.

idk which possibility is more damning for Schumer
either
A) he helped orchestrate the fold
OR
B) he genuinely opposed the fold but was so incompetent that he was unable to stop the splinter group from folding

The factional grifters will hate this, but the Mamdani-Spanberger-Sherrill axis actually suggests the outlines of a broad, emerging Dem coalition organized around both anti-Trump *and* affordability politics, not a party bitterly divided against itself.
These big wins will embolden Dems to take on Trump's lawbreaking and show there's a price for GOP enabling of him. Folks hate to hear this, but normal patterns are asserting themselves: Liberalism isn't dead, Rs are likely to lose in 2026, and Trump is really unpopular, not a magical exception.

Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.
