It’s been 2 years. The state is still coming for me.

Jonathan Haidt is a charlatan whose conclusions are based on bias and not science. Real social scientists who study the effects of social media and the internet thinks his prescriptions for the internet have no grounding in evidence. Yet he’s driving a movement to outlaw open source social media.
now is not the time to ban phones

My tio's life would have been saved if he had access to a proper retirement income.

And health care.
And a good psychiatrist.

He would still be happy, alive, and free with his truest love in Tennessee.

Half of U.S. workers have no retirement plan, and millions of seniors live in poverty. It’s time for universal retirement access—a system that lets everyone build a nest egg, no matter the job.

J. Patrick Patterson brings you the next big idea.
More Than Social Security; Universal Retirement Access for All
Every worker, no matter the job, should have a reliable way to build a nest egg.

An actual hot take: Too many authors are afraid of editors watering down their voice or whatever and not afraid enough of editors letting you put any old slop on the page.

Educate yourself about informants!

Years ago, a group of people who were directly harmed by informant provocateurs put together this checklist, drawing on their own experiences and those of other activists as well as information from informants who have gone public.

I’ve received multiple death threats + doxing (including my home address) directly following harassment from Turning Point USA, Jack Posobiec, Andy NGO, + Fox News which called me an antifa ‘financier.’

I have been forced to move my classes online.

Ahead of the 2020 election, we asked people in prison what might have helped keep them from committing the crime that led to their incarceration.

Among their responses were:
• affordable housing
• a stable, well-paying job
• mental health support
What Could Have Kept Me Out of Prison
We asked people behind bars what services and programs could have changed the course of their lives. Therapy, affordable housing and a living wage topped the list.

They're raiding black communities in Chicago. Zip-tie-ing people and destroying their personal property, leaving apartments in ruin and people in disarray. This is just the beginning. Residents of Chicago need to stay wary. Know your rights. Record everything.

I feel like those agents pulled that whole scene downtown today so they could get photos like this one. They wanted propaganda images of their guys mobbing up and grabbing people in iconic downtown Chicago locations. Nazi tourist bitches.

How does the protection racket work?

They drive millions into poverty, sell guns to everyone, flood the airwaves with hatred, and then—when people snap and carry out shootings—they tell you your only hope is to entrust even more power to the ones profiting on this system.

It happened in Europe during the Holocaust.

It's happening in Gaza.

It's underway at ICE facilities around the US.

And if we don't stop it, one day it could happen to you.

It reads:

Brenda Perez said her husband was arrested this month by ICE agents on Chicago’s South Side while he heading to work as a mechanic. She eventually confirmed he was at Broadview when she saw him on a social media video shot outside the center.

In brief calls, he told her he couldn’t sleep because there were too many people to lay down. He reported going 24 hours without food.

“He would beg them for food and water because he was hungry and very thirsty and they would just ignore him,” she said, crying.
