Also I think it’s fair to conclude that absolutely no work gets done at cabinet meetings?

This may be too much foreskin for one day, but in the US circumcision is very common, certainly not only among Jews and Muslims. At one point I'd seen a figure of around 80%. So we'd have to wait a few generations before this could become a useful basis for discrimination.
profmisterlizzie.bsky.social
Since Muslim men are often circumcised it's a bigot's two-fer.

It’s one reason I’m a fan of Vienna’s Aspern Seestadt.

I am addicted to the piles of NYers, it’s part of my decorating scheme, but thanks for the suggestion.

If homophobic pitchers all got their comeuppance there would be no one left to pitch (now that Sean Doolittle is a coach).

And just what has gone wrong when a stranger can cancel your plane reservation?

Oh and I also subscribe to my local newspaper, @tampabaytimes.bsky.social, although at this point that feels like more of a charitable contribution, the newspaper is a shadow of what it once was (no shade on its very good remaining reporters).

Oh, I forgot, also @newyorker.com -- that's a splurge for me, they used to have a very reasonable educator's rate, now I have to pay full price but I can't live without it. Lots of their stuff is not paywalled, though, so you can read without subscribing.

I subscribe to Wired, also to @propublica.org and to the @inquirer.com even though I don't live in Philly (some good teaser rates). I live in FL and so support @jasongarcia.bsky.social for state reporting. I also support public radio stations where I live and where I visit.

I'm a little surprised that county and even HCC board members seem open to this. Do they already have an idea of how they will handle the relocation of the campus? I do like the location, at least in theory, but maybe it's because I got used to going there for games this summer.
profmisterlizzie.bsky.social
Well we can also support organizations like the ACLU and other legal defense funds, those lawsuits are expensive.

Right, I don’t think the issue is whether they are trained to kick down doors and beat up children. But at least real police officers get trained on the law and on ways to defuse rather than aggravate volatile situations. I get that training often doesn’t help, but sometimes it does.

I mean this is the third cease fire, so we know how difficult it is to move beyond that first phase. But at this point bringing home hostages/stopping the carnage in Gaza seem like good things even if long term peace remains elusive.
profmisterlizzie.bsky.social
Wow as in what a great idea?

I began writing for @draysbay.bsky.social in 2016, just in time to cover the Rays first search for a new stadium site. Looking forward to my second decade on this beat, where I get to bring together my baseball and urban planning passions. The latest: build a stadium on a community college campus?
profmisterlizzie.bsky.social
Right? I don't get this coverage!! Do they do it for other retailers (which would still be strange) or is it just for Amazon?
profmisterlizzie.bsky.social
You are right, much better to stay home and yell on social media.
profmisterlizzie.bsky.social
well a few months, but yes that's why I think the endorsements are fine. Whether he could make these endorsements while serving on the DNC was a point of contention.
profmisterlizzie.bsky.social
I think David Hogg can and should make all the primary endorsements he wants, via his own organization. If that’s the role he wants to play it’s best he not serve as a DNC Vice Chair.
profmisterlizzie.bsky.social
When I retire in 2 years I want to move out of my auto centric sunbelt city and find a place where I can make an E-bike my primary form of transportation.
profmisterlizzie.bsky.social
YES! I feel like I need to burst into song.
profmisterlizzie.bsky.social
Right? As a college prof the problems of student absenteeism and not doing the reading felt familiar but that ideological frame was such a reach. If students aren’t doing the reading, how do they even know what they think about the issues?
profmisterlizzie.bsky.social
The are booing OHTANI? Well I had been neutral in this series but not any more
profmisterlizzie.bsky.social
I appreciated this article. Scrolling Bluesky you might think Ezra Klein was the one sending federal agents to attack cities.
