okay I'm still early into Engage (chapter 8) and I do like the maps a lot, and also I feel more (no pun intended) engaged with the unit selection and who I need to bring out for what battle, it's neat! its really good at ironing that aspect out!

My car got totaled in an intersection by a driver who wasn't paying attention yesterday. The payout from my insurance company is going to be small, and I'm already struggling because I don't have a start date for my new job.

I know times are bad, but if you can give anything:

the problem with modern videogame rpgs is they don't have quests like the one in phantasy star, where you need to bribe a governor with cake, but the only cake shop in the entire solar system is on a different planet, at the bottom of a four-floor dungeon, behind a locked door.

Okay Toku fandom, I know you love to doom, but as I understand it, it's just rebranding Super Sentai to cut Hasbro out. Basically make a new franchise without decades old contracts that prevent them from releasing it to half the world in an age of making money through simulcasts.

A ton of research and effort went into this one. This is the article to read to get to the bottom of Crunchyroll's subtitle changes!

Replies here will show up as comments (eventually)
Crunchyroll is destroying its subtitles for no good reason | Daiz.moe
With the Fall 2025 anime season, Crunchyroll demonstrates zero respect for anime as a medium as the presentation quality of its subtitles reach an all-time low.

Very similiar at Stadia. Spent a year from when the studio opened to when to it closed realizing Google had no idea what they were doing and constantly listening to truly ignorant/unhinged visions for the future. All while game devs were on calls with google engineers explaining what textures were.
The rumor I had always heard was that they hired a bunch of game developers and didn’t listen to them, which seems to be an ongoing trend.

Maybe someone should try making video games and trusting the people who know how to do it.
I legitimately didn't know they were competing with Steam and it's crazy to me that they burnt so much money on what sounds like something with very little (or wildly misguided) market research.
