The BBC peddling stark misinformation about infections. That was not exactly on my Bingo card but also not completely surprising.

1. Before 2020, I never, ever remember getting sick being portrayed as a good thing.

"Most people will get one or two respiratory infections every year. In some ways, it's a *good thing* when you are a child or healthy adult".

*my emphasis.

Makes me so sad when antisemites block me back... /z

People caring about antisemitism might want to consider looking at פינחס's moderation lists.
pymundgenealogy.com
One is for "they are evil on purpose" broadly construed and the other is for "they aren't real" just as broadly.

Some people on here hear “Anti-Zionism is not antisemitism” and conclude, “All antisemitism is actually anti-Zionism.”
maladroithe.bsky.social
Man it really sucks that people heard “Jews and Israelis aren’t synonymous” and interpreted that to mean “you can be as antisemitic as you want if you just say Israeli instead of Jewish”

CN antisemitism, child abuse mention

Fun fact: this is why "'Zionists' are pedophiles" lands you in my "Talmudic/etc. nonsense" blocklist, as opposed to "'Zionists' steal culture", which lands you in my "Khazarian/etc. nonsense" blocklist

I have bad news about what They say about "Zionists" and pedophilia

I really ought to delete Bluesky. Not my account but this web page overall.

Today is really hilarious. First bad #FediAntisemitism now here.

I guess my Hamas lovers list is still needed.
projectenigma.bsky.social
I really just saw someone who posted they'd rather be hostage to Hamas than to Israel and I'm like ???????
projectenigma.bsky.social
I've not seen that yet 🙃

Why am I not surprised

This is a person who is still taken seriously and published in left-wing spaces.

To be clear: No, most Israeli Jews are not descended from Polish Jews. And even for the minority who are, it would obviously not be safe for them all to go there now, given the Polish government.

You can’t argue that Israel has no culture of its own without arguing that Jews have no culture of our own, because Israel is majority Jewish. It’s not possible for all Israeli culture to be fake, vacuous, or appropriated without the same being true of Jewish culture.

You can and should criticise the Israeli government. You can and should speak out against genocide. But claiming that Israeli culture itself is not real, that Israeli Jews specifically just steal culture from others, is deeply antisemitic.

By the way, The Serfs posted his antisemitic meme right after invoking Anne Frank to make a political point. Jews are not people to him or other antisemites. We are just rhetoric.

The latest one is The Serfs, who posted a meme about Israelis claiming to have invented poutine (they don’t claim that). This an example of an old antisemitic trope that Jews (and therefore also Israelis) have no culture of our own, no real roots, and simply steal the cultures of people around us.

like I said yesterday when hundreds of people shared the “Israeli gumbo” screenshot with outraged commentary about “them” colonizing Louisiana, these are fake screenshots, no such articles exist, you are all getting righteously angry at something made-up b/c it aligns with your existing opinions.

saw someone arguing that MTG's anti Israel noises suggest that she's a more reliable moral voice longterm than most centrist Ds, and...like, people really need to acknowledge just how antisemitic she is and what role that plays in her approach to Israel policy. 1

Yeah. But then still it's no less valid for Ashkenazi Israelis to eat MENA cuisine than for Sefardim or Mizrachim.

I just am sensitive when the validity of such things is divided up between different Jewish subgroups sharing space in the same country/region.

Ja der Witz bezieht zumindest die frz. Einflüsse inexakt unter "Latein" mit ein und zum Teil ist da etwas dran, wenn auch einige Teile des Grundwortschatzes damit überlagert sind.
projectenigma.bsky.social
Or even when they live elsewhere but have connections to Israel...
projectenigma.bsky.social
But as if Ashkenazim can't *legitimately* take up Mediterranean food just as well as Mizrachim when they live in Israel?
projectenigma.bsky.social
But many enough put the historical connection of Jews to the Levant more into question for Ashkenazim.

And also mock Ashkenazim making Hummus (regardless whether in Israel or Europe or North America or wherever).

Ja gut, da gibt es ja die Aussage, dass Englisch zu 90% Latein ist ;)
