Yeah don't get me wrong I have very little FG experience - I've only ever played Skullgirls like a decade ago and was terrible at it - but they're both tactical, competitive styles of games so I can see where people might want to compare them

Yeah that I can see and I would kinda agree with; a strength of mobas, and DL particularly, is that you can supplement a deficiency of skill in one area with another. I'm ass at shooting but my movement and macro is good, so I can compensate for losing 1v1 fights. Can't do that in a FG

I say this as someone who is very good at Deadlock but absolute pure ass at fighting games

This also feels very apples to oranges to me? Deadlock is a moba, it's all about controlling the field of play whereas fighting games are one-on-one tests of skill reaction time. It's like saying "American football is harder to learn than MMA," they're not really transferable skills
