I can’t wait to retire, for exactly this reason. We only get one life, and wasting so much of it at work is bullshit. (And alarm clocks are an invention of the devil.)

I have so many better things I could be doing!

A way off yet though.

Or exhilarating!

Imagine the story he’ll tell the family now he’s home. 🤣

THIS. Sick of these selfish cunts.

(The CoC, not the unions, obv.)

“…I think people are getting sick of unions prioritising the politics over patients, or kids in education and parents being mucked around,"

No Christopher Luxon, people are getting sick of YOU prioritising your fiscal policies on your already wealthy mates, rather than on healthcare and education.

Some food for thought.

Same, and I don’t know when there will be a chance to undo this.

Whakamā. 🫤

Yeah, not the word I used.

The guy has been a councillor in the last term, and seemed ok, but it is a concern.

I wish candidates had to disclose current/past party association as part of their candidacy.

Today I learned (when it is far too late) that our new mayor may have historic links to the ACT Party!

Had I known that, I would not vote for him for anything, ever.

I only hope ACT have got too radical for him, and I *will* be asking when I get the chance.

Thought I had weeded out the cookers!

We can afford it, the government chooses not to spend the $$. ☹️

Remember Chad from a few days ago? This is his best friend SQUIDGE. Doesn't she have lovely eyes?! They are a bonded pair of perfect, wonderful cats. Adopt them in #Tucson!

This is 100% the biggest reason I pay my rates. I don’t want literal 💩 backing up all over the place.

One-eyed tuxedo SYLVESTER is a super ultra baby. He loves to sit in your lap purring, or just hang out lounging nearby.

10yo Sylvester is neutered, vax'd, chipped, and wormed in #Tucson. Please come adopt this gentle soul!

They aren’t tiny, but definitely not pancake-sized.

Best eaten warm. 🙂

Our colonial past is our colonial present. ☹️

The Olive green areas are councils where citizens voted down Māori wards (the little blue blob in the middle is Kirikiriroa, which voted by a whisker to retain theirs).
Coincidentally those Olive green areas also pretty accurately represent land confiscated by the crown after the Waikato wars.

This seems relevant, given my sense of disappointment this weekend.

And, there’s cake! 😊

Pastry as an object lesson…

Dedication, precision, perseverance lead to eventual success even in the face of setbacks and despair. Whether in baking or political activism.

And the recipe for this cinnamon nut swirl coffee cake.

Yep. And the shit he got when he said it…

We’re not big on introspection, either.
