Last week, hours before the start of Yom Kippur, Montgomery County State Senator Ben Kramer sent us a belittling diatribe, insulting his Jewish constituents and repeating debunked talking points from the Israeli government.

When I was placed on the Professor Watchlist in 2021, people sent death threats about my children. I had security officers monitor my 8yo at school.

Where is all the outrage for those of us who have been targeted for years? Where is the outrage for our families?

My own colleagues are silent.

Kirk said that Jewish people control “not just the colleges; it’s the nonprofits, it’s the movies, it’s Hollywood, it’s all of it.” Kirk also said ”the number one funding mechanism of radical, open border, neoliberal, quasi-Marxist policies, cultural institutions, and nonprofits" is “Jewish donors.” Claims that wealthy Jewish people and donors control major institutions and Hollywood are common antisemitic tropes. The ADL has a new survey claiming: "Widespread Antisemitism and Anti-Israel Bias Reported by Faculty in Higher Education."

But it's basically a survey of faculty who already belong to a pro-Israel advocacy group.

The incidents are largely overlooked. They don’t fit the narrative for those most tasked with this fight. And they don’t get the clicks for media. But they are happening regardless.

3. An antisemitic screed was written on the sidewalk outside a kosher restaurant

You don't have to be trans to opt-out.

You just have to work on thinking of yourself as a person before as a gendered category.

Make your identity things you are proud of about yourself, not old gendered wounds you still carry from childhood.

Jews will not be favored. “Jews” will be defined to include only the subset of Jews who meet evangelical Christian criteria for Jewishness, specifically unequivocal support for the state of Israel and the current U.S. administration.
