Hitler was rejected from art school. Imo it's less the arts per se & more bitter sense of thwarted entitlement that never leaves no matter how much power they otherwise accrue. Trump for instance is bitter bc Manhattan's elite never accepted him as "one of us."

ultimately ofc it's Daddy issues
Failed artist in general is a rather large portion of historical fascists

I'll leave you from Portland with one last video of the @unpresidentedbrass.bsky.social, the unofficial house band of #NoKings
Also some of us can’t stand for an hour in a huge crowd and then walk for another hour. It’s OKAY to do what you can physically or mentally do. 🤷🏻‍♀️
I don’t understand what this person wants. Do they think there are more anarchists than there are? Do they think we can fix this problem without normie liberals (of which I am basically one)?

Administrators at Indiana University baselessly fired the student media director and ordered the student paper to cease its print edition, so it'd sure be a shame if this excellent digital front page were to be widely shared today

Take note of all these people turning out for protests in small towns in red states.

Remember them the next time you’re inclined to write an area off because “they voted for this.”
AND The Villages?! (Wait a few seconds to see how many)
It's early in the day and the Villages retirement community in Florida is already showing up for the #nokings protests
DAAAAMN, The Woodlands?!
Incredible. If they're protesting in The Woodlands, we are going to win.
No Kings protest in The Woodlands, Texas (north suburban Houston). This is the first such protest to occur in the community. I overheard a number of folks telling others that they had never attended such an event before but had gotten to the point of feeling they needed to do something.
Oh this is LIT!!!
Purdue to the rescue of IU student newspaper, whose institution was attempting censorship. Details in alt!

Today’s No Kings protests have shown two things:

1) Trump and MAGA Republicans inhabit a bubble that is nothing like real life in America. Fully disconnected.

2) They see themselves as powerful and unstoppable. They are neither.

I love it so much when people use the style or actual images from WWII posters. SO GOOD!
YES THEY ARE!!!
Ordinary working mainstream-ass people are sick to death of this shit

The White House and other government entities are joining Bluesky as I type. That will bring a new group to bsky that many have not dealt w before. Don't engage, just block their asses. Give them no oxygen, starve them out.
💙✌🏻💙
They may arrive tomorrow

Still can't get over the time Shaun King fundraised to climb the 14 highest peaks in the world and then came to WA state to get a practice run on a hill before he left for Everest or wherever and gave up after a 45 min hike on the main trail because it was too difficult
Lol, apparently Shaun King has found YET ANOTHER grift. I wrote him off years ago when Black women were first pointing out how bogus he is. He can take a long walk off a short pier.
This is a good explanation of what went down. Word on the Chicago subreddit is that Fr. Larry is good people. I was SO INCREDIBLY OFFENDED that they were turned away, but not surprised. A wonderful method of protest and ministry.
It's always good to see priests who still remember there are *seven* Catholic social principles. Also, that noise you hear is the USCCB screeching to the Vatican and getting back nothing, lol
Chicago priest Fr. Larry Dowling describes procession to ICE facility: “No one had the courage to speak directly to us. No one from Homeland Security could stand in the presence of the Monstrance holding the Blessed Sacrament. No wonder. Evil is repelled, recoils in the presence of Christ.”
Like...WHY do people think this?
Thank you so much for this incredible photo.
