When people in Southern Oregon learn I am from Idaho, they will sometimes ask, “why did you leave?” I usually […]

Weird to learn that the tradition of pardoning the turkeys for Thanksgiving only began in 1989. It seems like it had always been around since I was a kid.

"Thanksgiving got cheaper for people under Trump because they accepted inferior products and fewer of them" is a terrible Jedi Mind Trick.
Hassett: "On one of the Sunday shows, the anchor criticized the fact Walmart said the Thanksgiving dinner is cheaper by about $10. Then he said, 'Oh yeah, but they substituted generic stuff,' as if having a generic something is a crime for ordinary folks! It shows how out of touch these people are."

Haystack News, of all things, is giving a remarkably clear and accurate breakdown of the new ban on hemp-derived THC products.

Americans should never be in a position to question whether someone in their Administration would stage a false flag attack in the capital to justify increasing military force therein as we lead up to the release of the Epstein files, so I won't.

This discussion on Raging Moderates that average Americans don't begrudge rich people getting rich, they just want to do well for themselves, is accurate to a point. I don't begrudge someone buying a vacation home and a yacht. When they're buying their 7th home and third yacht, I'd begrudge that.

I'm loving the current Tom rants that "you poors wanted cheap flights / goods, you can't expect Big Air / Big Box to give you decent service" while those Bigs are plowing profit into stock buybacks and big c-suite packages. "They can't serve you well and make ultra profit! They'd only make profit!"

On #TubiTVNight it's Kim Cattrall, Brian Dennehy, Dustin Ingram, Keith David in 2010's "Meet Monica Velour." Cattrall's a porn star who peaked in the 80s, Dennehy's grandson Ingram is a teen geek who idolizes Cattrall... yada yada it's all right for free tv.

For a quarter-century now I have been telling y'all about #Idaho.

The state with the greatest support for Trump? It's the only one in the +30% range.

This is the best SNL cold open of the year so far. Lorne, get Mrs. Betty Bowers in your writers room.
On tonight’s episode: Pam Bondi lunges at Lindsey Halligan: "You ruined my James Comey revenge!" Halligan yells, “You were the idiot who let the statute of limitations run!” A drunk Jeanine Pirro pushes them apart. Pam snarls at Pirro: “I’m not through with you, Miss Can’t Get a Fucken Indictment!”

My favorite "yadda yadda" of the year.
psychological and physical BDSM, including some sadism, yadda yadda.

This involves fruit fucking.

So this is a new caller, and I'm trying to figure out what he's into. Which is a PSO specific area...because you'll get new callers who are shy about telling you what they want. And expect you to

Parking lots? Freeway medians? Commercial building roofs? Feedlots? Nah, lets cut down a bunch of trees for a solar panel array.
Another destructive solar project approved in n CA -- “There's nothing environmentally friendly about cutting down 4,000 oak trees, the most ecologically valuable native tree in all of North America. Over 2,000 other species depend on them." 🌎 www.capradio.org/articles/202...
SMUD’s controversial Coyote Creek solar project moves forward
The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the project at a packed Tuesday meeting, where over 150 people showed up to voice concerns or support.

To be fair, all the touchless bathroom fixtures must go. I want a sink with a faucet that functions with handles, paper towels that dispense with a lever, and a soap dispenser with a push button. We're washing our hands, so who cares what we touch immediately before that?
At this point, the Washpost edit page is just trolling its readers.

This is today's actual house editorial.

Well, it is an open question whether a president who's been granted immunity for official acts by the Supreme Court could actually give an illegal order.
November 24, 2025 at 10:27 PM
Yes, shit on the intelligence of enlisted people, that ought to work. I think even the lowliest E1 would know that an order to fire on unarmed protesters with live ammunition would be illegal.
BLITZER: I want to be precise. Should members of the US military obey clearly illegal orders?

McCLAIN: You're asking an enlisted person for their opinion on what they think is legal. That's a pretty slippery slope. Follow your commander in chief. That's the oath that you took

(Not a no!)

As much as we despise Trump's betrayal of Ukraine, if Obama had enforced his "red line" over Crimea, we wouldn't be in this situation.

No podcast this morning, I'm saving it for Thanksgiving morning so I could use the next 3 days to make as much money as possible.

I don't think we recover our previous prestige ever in my lifetime. One Trump Admin, maybe, but to flip Obama, Trump, Biden, Trump, how can anybody ever think any agreement would last longer than the current administration?
November 24, 2025 at 1:04 AM
I think this works as a preface to my podcast, actually.
I might have posted this before but I am still looking for a situation where this panel would be relevant as a reaction pic. I haven’t found it yet, so the search continues.

The villain who would be played by Jeffrey Jones. Which, considering, you know, would be wildly appropriate for casting in this Administration.
I’ve never seen a clip of this man speaking that didn’t make me want to throw things.

Snide, condescending and deeply dishonest. Feels like a villain from a bad 80s teen comedy.
Bessent: "You know the best way to bring your inflation rate down? Move from a blue state to a red state. Blue state inflation is half a percent higher."

Listening to pardon attorney Liz Oyer on Al Franken's podcast, relieved to hear her say MAGA with the short a, and then crushed when she says "Nevawduh".
