#nephsky Can somebody help me make sense of this fig? PISCES trial. The no.at risk means without events, right? They seem pretty close to each other, but why so much difference in the results? sorry if this is a dumb query🙏

Was listening to nephjc freely filtered episode of ACHIEVE trial just the other day. Of all the things we've tried in HD and failed, and now fish oil does the trick??? @kidneyboy.bsky.social @hswapnil.medsky.social
Shocking first high impact trial of the day. Fish oil reduces CV events in dialysis patients! #Pisces #kidneywk

1/2 They say MEST scoring shouldn't inform Rx decisions. But it does, doesn't it? Witha high M/E score you would like to give strong antinflamm rx; you would think twice about giving steroid/mmf with S1/T2 score. So it does influence your choice in a way.

Can someone make sense of this figure? It's from the nephjc article on EMPAKIDNEY followup trial. Does this mean that the longer you remain on sglt2is, the benifit wanes over time? Am I reading that right? #nephsky

#nephsky query!
When you have ⬆️K, is there a rule as to how much aldo should rise? i hv a pt with K consistently around 5.5 and aldo level 14.2ng/dl, DRC 1.33mIU/ml, would you say that the aldo is inappropriately nrml & this is hyporeninemic hypoaldo?
