The game takes place in an accelerated real-time, with some events scripted to take place in certain locations at certain times. You can manipulate time on the pause screen, rewinding and forwarding the time/day as the Express travels along its route, which allows for mapping out those three days.

I'm a fan of 'bottle environment' games like this, where you become very familiar with a smaller environment across a span of time. Cruise for a Corpse from Delphine was my first experience of this, and also Psygnosis's Sentient, which also imbued its cast of characters with non-linear agendas.
