If you’re only selling something, are right-winger and looking for argument, or look like some Russian mail-order bride type, don’t bother following me. Will block.
Fog in the valley last night was glowing with the light of blanketed buildings.

A craftsperson loves craft. Writing is craft. The people who practice it are into the process. People using AI don't have the SOUL of a craftsperson. They want an end result to stick their name on, that's it.

Now we see what the gig is: Will DOJ release the files or will they claim their lopsided investigation into only Democrats (despite Bondi’s July statement that the evidence didn’t support any additional prosecutions) means they won’t release anything.
You might not have caught what just happened on the Senate floor, but the Senate just “deemed as passed” the Epstein resolution.

That means as soon as it arrives from the House, it automatically passes the Senate (with no amendments) and heads to the President’s desk.

Wow.

Sounds like Saudi Arabia is leaving almost everything to the US in their Will… and plans to outlive the US.
If I told you the entire Saudi GDP this year would be ~$1.25 trillion it may surprise you to learn they're dumping $1.1 trillion into the US

in other news I am so fucking tired of this made up bullshit

Life is better when we have good humans as leaders. We could have had that this time but some people don’t want life to be better, if it means better for all.
A real president does this.

Thank you to every veteran who’s worn the uniform and carried the weight for the rest of us — just respect 🇺🇸

Our “Founding Fathers” should have included as the opening and closing of the Constitution, that this is a work in progress and not something to treat like a Ming vase. Not holy. We are NOT honorable gents who are safe around loopholes and sloppy language, so spare the lofty words and get specific!

An important lesson in under 3 minutes.

Silence legitimizes injustice.

And one day, no one will be left to speak out for you.
They stayed silent because it wasn’t their problem. That’s how injustice wins, not by force, but by the quiet approval of those who look away.

The system doesn’t need to break you. It just needs you to do nothing while it breaks others. And when it’s your turn, no one will be left to fight for you.

Once again hating leaf blowers this morning. After a life spent working hard and doing good, leaves deserve a peaceful preliminary after-life (prior to composting) and shouldn’t be loudly chased out of their neighborhood. This craving for constant yard tidiness needs to end. Thank you.

Grateful to spend two days on the Klamath watching chinook, liberated by dam removal, return to streams from which they’d been precluded since the Titanic sank. Fish are everywhere, in numbers that stagger the mind & locations that biologists figured would take years to repopulate. Too beautiful.

Covid vaccine boosted, 2nd day of availability here. The university hospital vaccine clinic was doing a brisk business delivering flu vaccines to university employees, but we may have been the only ones for covid. So we continue to mask.
