« move fast and break things »
Reminds me of the orange turd’s tactics to destroy the US without much pushback.
Overwhelm people with bullshit to paralyze them into inaction to normalize the unacceptable.
Finally (for now), the unaccountable "move fast and break things" business model of the companies pushing this trash is morally and ethically bankrupt and enriches billionaires at the expense of everyday people.

"Break things" means "break people," and I don't think that's acceptable.

As someone who works in the tech industry--absolutely.

They are testing the waters. These are top-down orders. The ONLY way to stop it is a visceral negative reaction. Write articles. Post your rage. Email. Post. @. All those things.

Only you have the power to kill it.
Let me give some insight on this, as a producer in the dub industry who worked with major streamers, who's witnessed first-hand where this push for AI is coming from.

tl;dr: Only CEOs want this. Tell them how much you hate it. Be loud, email, call, @, post. You will kill this.

🧵⬇️
The only thing less human than these AI dub performances is the decision to sign off on them

A company this big can pay human actors a decent wage, not produce slop that intentionally removes the human element.

Ok, i have one fear for FF9 remake : it has AI in it.
I’d rather no remake at all. Would be less painful.

@discord.com the fight to end and abolish AI is at the intersection of everyone's basic rights. from the invasive & totalitarian surveillance, to the theft of both labor & private data, to the destruction of human knowledge, to the militarized use of it, to the environmental and public health harm.

Robots like Optimus will make working "optional" in the future...

We'll have...universal high income," Musk said.

Fuck genAI !
Fuck Amazon (been boycotting them for a decade possibly, knowing how shit they are to workers… them embracing AI is on brand) !
Hey just so you know Amazon decided to give us an AI ENGLISH DUB of Banana Fish instead of actually hiring real voice actors
it is fucking hot garbage

Sometimes, I want to grab a sharpie and write anti AI slogans on AI generated posters and such. Nothing will change if people acts indifferent.
my heart breaks seeing foodtrucks and new local businesses with gpt slop logos. sucks so bad

I would switch the « car » for a « gun » personally. GenAI was designed to steal and compress the larceny to make cheap and quick content. It’s designed to fuck over workers.

I think both the technology AND the people behind it (and using it without shame) are inherently harmful to society.
Or plagiarism machine, or privacy-rights stripping machine, etc. you get the idea. Like people who advocate changing the language around car wrecks. The “car” didn’t jump the the curb and kill the kids, the driver did.

Like any other automation, people need to stop treating it like a magic ghost, but as a machine, whose creators, owners and/or operators are to be held liable for its errors and wrongdoings. I.e The Ai didn’t do a racism, the company’s owners and employees made and operated a racism machine.

Despite writing comics and science fiction, I am not concerned about "A.i." becoming sentient and destroying humanity. This technology remains a variation of fancy autocomplete; it's not becoming sentient.

But I AM concerned about the morality and ethics of the people who control it.

Another huge problem is that the massive companies pushing "A.i." cannot be trusted on a moral and ethical level. They are run by billionaires who can manipulate the products to push disinfo or outright bigotry. Put their "A.i." in everything, and everything can become their megaphone for garbage.

A HUGE part of the problem is that the "A.i." industry markets this tech as a flawless solution for everything - in search for example. The marketing implies "A.i." gives true answers when "truth" has nothing to do with its process and it consistently delivers bullshit. That's INCREDIBLY dangerous.
