Now that the local and national press have started to cover the Portland ICE area round-the-clock in reaction to the President, Antifa have devised a plan where they are encouraging one another to come in animal costumes.

The costumes serve the function of masking the violent extremism to make the direct action appear like a family-friendly gathering on camera, and to whitewash the past ultraviolence.

In 2019, Antifa devised a similar plot by giving out free "milkshakes" at a protest. But they couldn't contain their bloodthirst and nearly killed me when they saw me. In 2020, they mobilized a fake "Wall of Moms" where female Antifa supporters and members wore yellow shirts to act as human body shields while violent rioters behind them hurled projectile weapons.

This isn't to say that information is bad, but I've discovered I need a balance in my life of warm hugs, watching the Yankees lose and witnessing a twerking inflatable frog leading the resistance in Portland if I'm to remain sane, and more critically, happy.

I spent the day having brunch with an old friend, cooking a family recipe, visiting with my in-laws and then parents in rapid succession and then watching baseball.

I... I opened this app at the end of the night and both felt better informed and much sadder for it.

Statement from Illinois Governor JB Pritzker

This evening, President Trump is ordering 400 members of the Texas National Guard for deployments to Illinois, Oregon, and other locations within the United States. No officials from the federal government called me directly to discuss or coordinate.
We must now start calling this what it is: Trump's Invasion. It started with federal agents, it will soon include deploying federalized members of the Illinois National Guard against our wishes, and it will now involve sending in another state's military troops.
I call on Governor Abbott to immediately withdraw any support for this decision and refuse to coordinate. There is no reason a President should send military troops into a sovereign state without their knowledge, consent, or cooperation.
The brave men and women who serve in our national guards must not be used as political props. This is a moment where every American must speak up and help stop this madness.

It's my grandfather's pepper steak recipe - which is tritip, bell peppers and mushrooms simmered together for an hour and then served over rice.

He gave me the recipe on Friday, but I worked out what parts of it were "missing" (a crucial step) thanks to my mom.

Just made a critical, load bearing, people stop by after work for a plate level family recipe for the first time.

My mom rushed over to "help" and ended up eating two servings. She seemed disappointed when I sent her back with a serving for my aunt, but not more.
