For more than 104 years, Viola Fletcher lived without ever receiving justice for the crimes committed against her and her community during the Tulsa Race Massacre.

May the shame of that failure forever stain our nation.

And may Mrs. Fletcher rest in eternal power and paradise.

For decades, my hometown of Brooklyn has remained an iconic travel destination, with internationally recognized landmarks and imagery that evokes the music, culture, and art only found in our borough.

Our economic health depends truly upon the strength of our tourism industry.

For four decades in elected office, my dear friend Congresswoman @velazquez.house.gov exemplified what it means to be a public servant. Our city and nation owe so very much to her – as do I.
The administration’s rush toward war with Venezuela is reckless and unlawful.

I won’t stand by while we’re marched into another disastrous intervention. Congress must reassert its constitutional authority and stop this escalation.

Spare me this line of bullshit.

The ONLY reason Speaker Johnson is defending death threats from the President of the United States is because he’s terrified of ending up on the wrong side of them.

Sooner or later, Donald Trump will come for us all, Mike.

Save your dignity and get it over with.

It’s painfully clear that Trump resurrected the failed AI moratorium as a gift to his billionaire donors whose profits depend on their unfinished technology remaining unregulated.
Trump on AI: "You can't go through 50 states. You have to get one approval. 50 is a disaster. Because you'll have one woke state and you'll have to do all woke. You'll be back in the woke business. We don't have woke anymore in this country. It's virtually illegal. You'll have a couple of wokesters"

I voted to release the Epstein Files, today.
November 18, 2025 at 8:34 PM
Once again, Trump is threatening to have his FCC attack dog collectively punish an entire network because one of its reporters asked him a tough question.

The Epstein Coverup clearly matters far more to him than the 1st Amendment ever could.

And it's not hard to figure out why.
Reporter: Mr. President, why wait for congress to release the Epstein files? Why not just do it now?

Trump: It's not the question that I mind. It's your attitude… I think the license should be taken away from ABC. We have a great commissioner, a chairman who should look at that.

Ruby Bridges' courageous act was not so long ago…

No matter how desperately some might try to erase our history, segregation remains a crime within living memory.

Hiding that truth is a service to hatred and the hateful.
#OTD in 1960, Ruby Bridges became the first Black child to attend an all-white school in the South. Decades later, U.S. schools are resegregating at alarming rates.

50 days after her election, and at long last, I can proudly call the now-Congresswoman Adelita Grijalva a colleague. She has my congratulations, as well as my admiration for her poise and professionalism throughout this embarrassing chapter in Speaker Johnson’s House.

A promise is only as good as the people who give it.

So how much is a promise from the party that sued to rip food from the mouths of starving Americans and shut down the government because they wanted healthcare to be even more unaffordable really worth?

Nothing at all.

Starting today, 40 American airports are reducing their traffic due to the Republican Shutdown.

That means longer lines, delays, and cancellations across the country, including at JFK, LaGuardia, Newark, and other airports that countless New Yorkers travel through every single day.

No, you didn’t read this headline wrong.

Donald Trump and Republicans are so desperate to keep using hunger as a political weapon, they’re begging the courts to not stop them from starving 42 million Americans.

Bigotry has absolutely no place in Brooklyn, or anywhere else in our country.

I condemn this antisemitic act in the strongest possible terms and urge that all those who defaced one of our beloved yeshivas with this disgusting graffiti be held accountable for their actions.

In the wake of Hurricane Melissa’s impact leaving Jamaican infrastructure in ruins, communities reeling, and tens of thousands displaced, it would be unsafe and inhumane to expel Jamaican nationals from the US back to their home while recovery efforts are still ongoing.

How is this administration "complying with the court's order" to continue funding SNAP when Donald Trump himself says no one gets their payments until he gets what he wants?

42 million Americans deserve a straight answer on whether or not their president plans to illegally starve them.
Q: Trump wrote that SNAP benefits will only be given when Democrats reopen the government. As written, how would that not violate the court order?

LEAVITT: I've now answered this question several times. We are complying with the court's order

This is great news.

Now let's hope and pray Donald Trump makes the moral, lawful decision to release these funds and ensure 42 million Americans do not go hungry come tomorrow.
In a major victory, a court ruled the Trump administration must use emergency funds to provide food stamps to Americans.

No one should choose between paying bills and buying groceries.

We'll continue our lawsuit to fight for our families and the services they deserve.

“Kill first, ask questions never” is not an acceptable policy position, nor are this administration's extrajudicial military strikes even remotely effective at curbing America’s dire drug and opioid crisis.

In just over a day, 42 million Americans will lose their SNAP benefits. That won’t be due to the shutdown, or any made-up law.

No, millions are going to go hungry only because Trump and his GOP lackeys want them to. Because they believe that every starving child gives them more political leverage.
Mike Johnson admits that Trump is refusing to pay SNAP benefits that feed 42 million people because it would “reduce the pressure” on Democrats to help reopen the government 🤮
