Finally out! The outcome of a virtual workshop in Feb 2024 with modelers and observationalists to put together data and protocols to include historical changes in ice sheet/ice shelf discharge in CMIP models. Hopefully not too late for some CMIP7 runs!

Here’s hoping! 🤞
If NOAA SWPC's CME model is correct, we may get hit by a pretty fast solar storm Thursday night. Impact speed is almost 800 km/s.
Currently, there is a G3/Strong Storm watch for Thursday and Friday, and depending on what we see at Earth, auroral displays may be seen further equatorward than usual.

The last 10 days of CME activity - what a show! Now, let's keep this same energy on the Earth-facing disk! AR 4246, AR 4248, and maybe some other fiesty active regions will be rotating into our view within the next few days.

Very nice to see ngGONG move forward! GONG is a decades-old global instrument on which the Sun never sets, to observe the Sun around the clock. It provides very important continuous monitoring of space weather and allows us to image the interior of the star itself. ☀️
