I put it on influencers/large follower accounts for not being more responsible. You should have a more refined and disciplined sense of media literacy if you have a following imo.

Millenials made jokes online for 10+ years about how they'd rather kill themselves than pick up a phone and talk to a human being.
Now they're teachers and librarians and they're super pissed when people talk to AI for days before begrudgingly interacting with a person.

Interesting to think about movie Upstream Color w/r/t l'affaire Nuzzi. Both stories have literal parasitic worms. Both also have a character who isn't the true driving force of calamity but is happy to be an enabler since that serves their own ends. A different kind of parasite.

It sucks that this place burnt down and if the owner did it that sucks even more.
Everyone in Minnesota wants to stay by a lake but it's expensive to keep up these places. A bunch are crumbling because they don't bring in enough for repairs.
Bryce Campbell, the owner of the Lutsen Resort Lodge on Lake Superior’s North Shore, has been arrested on charges of arson and insurance fraud for his alleged role in the fire that destroyed the lodge in early 2024.

There's something going around with bad GI symptoms. Got me a couple days ago and now my older son is sick. If your kid complains about stomach pain or lower GI rumbling make sure they can get to a toilet pretty quick. Luckily it seems to pass in a day or less.

Overheard at the small town mini-mall

Guy walking past a dispensary that isn't open yet: "I'm gonna be your biggest customer"

Woman at the game shop: "if I haven't DM'd for you before you should know I'm not everybody's cup of tea"

Guy at reptile shop: "I have three of you at home already"

Now for greatest test of my parenting so far: son had only seen despecialized versions of original trilogy, now watching special edition RotJ. If this becomes his preferred version I'm walking into the ocean.

"Everybody does," said the surprised doctor; "they're very popular today. Why, I'm kept so busy I can hardly fill the orders for noise pills, racket lotion, clamor salve, and hubbub tonic. That's all people seem to want."
