1/7 The UK Christmas Top 20 in 1975 was one of the finest ever. But what has happened to each of the performers in the fifty years since? This study shows that making hit records certainly seemed to be a young person's game in those days.

JFK was murdered on this date in 1963. In 5 years his brother and MLK, Jr would be, too. Since then one party has turned to hate and the other to focus-group slide decks in response. Since this was first published years ago my sons have grown. But the question remains.

“I went home with the waitress/the way I always do/how was I to know she was with the Russians too?” is one of the all time great openings.

Warren Zevon was so brilliant at writing songs that were like three minute short stories.

I don't support the alleged actions of Prince Andrew and fully understand the motivation for stripping him of his titles. However, the constitutional effort needed to remove him from the line of succession is significant and if implemented will convince me this is a witch hunt.

2. It confirms everything we already thought.

I'm working my way slowly through the Pink Panther cartoons but can never remember where I'm up to. So: I have just watched "Pink Posies".

Even though I thought he'd finished doing it, Sir Keir seems to have found yet another idea which will be significantly vote-losing. Now, I have little concern personally about an ID card, but I'm confident that I'm in a minority.

Worth remembering many people will be unfamiliar with terms like "indefinite leave to remain" and "settlement". People know what immigration is + citizenship, but settlement is less intuitive

So its important for those countering the proposals to put in schoolgate language what is being proposed

No classified results at 5pm on Final Score? Just somebody inaccurately reading out the results a few minutes later. This is not standard of reporting I expect from the BBC.

The Italian composer whose name starts with "tar" is Tullio Serafin (1896-1988). He was a prominent conductor, particularly known for his work with Italian opera houses. He was not, however, a composer himself, but rather a conductor.

So: not TAR, not even a composer...
