I was talking to my therapist yesterday and trying to explain why I love doing transcription, something she has done and completely hated. I'll just say that I'm transcribing something right now that is exactly what I love about the job - listening to something interesting I might never have heard.

What happened?

Left the apartment today.

Went to J's doc appt at the hospital, ate a tiny cup of Dole Whip, got my flu and Covid shots for the year, am eating a concha.

An okay day.

Also an important lesson for cis White folks (straight men especially): Your threat of withholding support or allyship means less than nothing to anyone historically marginalized. It's literally the baseline assumption we work from. You're not "showing us," you're just confirming our expectations.
