Hey, people are permanently losing their eyesight at some of these protests and have been for some time. These people, the ones that have put their bodies on the line, are among the people who would benefit from your usage of alt-text when posting protest related imagery.

I don’t think people quite understand that the occupation by ICE in the Twin Cities has more or less erased non-white people from public life. They cannot safely exist in any space accessible to the public and moving between private places leaves folks vulnerable to kidnapping by armed masked goons.

sometimes i say in interviews - i'm pretty sure there will still be axes in a thousand years, but i can't say the same about smartphones. in this and many other ways literary magazines are like axes 🪓
I'm fully confident literary magazines will survive the AI apocalypse. There is no better time to become a creative writer. You already have an inside track because most people have never even heard of these things that can never die. We will be here with the cockroaches and Taco Bell

Last week, I got a corrections request for a story I didn't write, on a publication I don't write for. It sent me down a very strange rabbit hole involving a mysterious content publisher. There's a lot I don't understand, but here's what I know:

Fun question: Who has the sexiest singing voice? Not singer who is sexy physically? But whose voice alone is sexy.

Say hello to Esther Hammerton (1711-1746). After surviving a chapel collapse at age 18, she took over as gravedigger and sexton in Kingston upon Thames. She made a habit of foiling attempted churchrobbers.

Folks, Trump has brought the full force of ICE to bear on a mid-sized city and he can't even stop the demonstrations there. He's not going to be able to cancel the midterm elections by fiat or station his goons outside more than a handful of polling places.

Reminder: shooting civilians would be considered a war crime.

What does it mean when that is happening on our own streets?

As long as I'm sharing Tony's non-writing work, these are two of my favorites--a birthday present he made for me in 2018. Needless to say, I treasure these.

In season 15, I really need to see the characters on King of the Hill react to Heated Rivalry. Can totally see Peggy Hill fujoshing out and Bill Dauterive somehow getting sucked in

this was me! my dad had all the books and we would talk about dilbert a lot, which is funny because he had been self employed for a long time by then
rather than talk about Scott Adams I want to talk about something weirder (me). Who else was really into Dilbert when you were 12. Who else was like, boy, I can't wait to work a cubicle job

my sort of underbaked take is i liked the dilbert comic strip as a kid because its depiction of a banal and arbitrary work environment where nonsensical top-down policies dictated my life resonated much more with my experience of school than my life later in the work force

I really like the suggestion that the young men starring in Heated Rivalry haven’t had media training. Like if they haven’t, I’m pretty sure the last couple months qualify as their MFA thesis on how to sell the fuck out of a television show
