the thing that feels so nice about heated rivalry right now is that in an age of increasing censorship and ""brand safety"" (let alone the increasing political hostility to queer people), it's a show that really wants to be gay and horny and wants to pay attention to horniness as craft.

I get a lot of edit inquiries that are from people who have never shared their writing with other people, and I gotta say: I strongly recommend against this. do not pay for an editor if you have never shared your work before.

i rly do think that if you want to improve as a spec fic writer, the skill you need to focus on is just scene craft. it's not lore or conlangs or magic systems. it's nuts and bolts stuff. rising action - turn - consequences. what does your character want in this scene? and so on.
