Here's a resource to find local organizing groups in your area.

The most important thing is not to lose hope. Things are going to get dark, but we can always keep the light alive for each other.

My December so far? Stress and anxiety. How am I coping? ✨Games that simulate stress and anxiety ✨

On a more serious note, very glad to have backed @moreblueberries.bsky.social ' The Time We Have. Exactly the heart wrenching zombie narrative I was hoping for. www.wargamer.com/the-time-we-...
This tragic, apocalyptic board game will probably make you cry - but you should play it anyway
The world is a scary place, and I'm using board games like The Time We Have, an emotional zombie apocalypse simulator, as a coping mechanism.

I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that Rascal is the most important source of tabletop news in the hobby. If you can afford to subscribe, I highly recommend you do! My upcoming big video draws HEAVILY on the work of Rascal journalists, and would be much worse without their reporting
At this moment, we have 2430 paid subscribers. Can we get 2500 by the end of 2025? You can subscribe right now for only $1, and support independent tabletop games journalism.
New subscriptions to Rascal News will be rising by $1 in 2026. If you've been waiting to support us, we're currently running a holiday sale where the first two months of our entry tier is only $1/month!

My brilliant partner @fulmerford.com wrote a chilling work of short fiction on ICE in Chicago which you should absolutely read
"He had originally kept the part about the radio secret, because it sounded crazy and because he needed to be believed, he needed the person to heed his warning. Now he told the person everything. He knew too much about their lives anyway—their name, the names of their loved ones"
Here's "Listener Supported," a story that is also a love letter to National Public Radio & to Chicago & to John Cheever's "The Enormous Radio"

I haven't written anything substantial in so long. It truly feels like the part of me that was a writer has been exiled from my brain, and there's a deeply shattering sense of self I have with that.

But what is there to say right now? What can be said in the face of The Horrors that means anything.

I really hope this is true, these sweeps are violent and cruel and ruin the lives of the most vulnerable people in our city
NEW: Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani said Thursday he will not continue sweeps of homeless encampments — which city data shows have not yielded any permanent or supportive-housing referrals in more than a year.

As I start the process of legally getting my name changed, I decided I wanted to include my mothers maiden name, and for some reason it's making me very emotional.

That name has worked to survive so much, and seeing the name I've chosen for myself and the one I was given alongside it, it feels new

Last week, ICE arrested and separated a father and son after a routine check-in. Six-year-old Yuanxin had just enrolled in the first grade at an elementary school in Astoria. Now he's in custody, alone. ICE won't say where. This cruelty serves no one. It must end.
