There is an obvious and striking asymmetry between how the government thinks about the value of privacy for ICE/CBP and the people that they stop, monitor and detain. bsky.app/profile/qjur...
Since we published this, Pam Bondi's X account has started posting mugshots of Minnesotans arrested for impeding ICE/CBP. Sharing a defendant's photo publicly in this way is forbidden under DOJ rules
ICE and CBP are at the head of Trump's campaign to terrorize Minnesotans. But the Justice Department is not far behind.

I know all eyes are on Minneapolis, but there's a fast-approaching nightmare in Springfield, Ohio.

Trump is revoking protected status for tens of thousands of Haitians living there on Feb. 3.

Reportedly, on Feb. 4, 1000 ICE agents are arriving to remove this population. Ethnic cleansing.

Gallego: I think it's ridiculous that Kristi Noem just went out right away and basically called this poor victim, a violent terrorist. That right there is impeachable. She lied about a citizen to justify his murder. The president should ask for her resignation.

There isn’t any indication that immigration activity has changed in Minneapolis. In fact, this afternoon, federal immigration agents began staging at Holy Rosary Catholic Church located in East Phillips. This activity is disgraceful and creates an unsafe environment for our neighbors. 1/

yes, there are no real signs of any big change in DHS activity here yet. In Chicago there really was after Bovino left and they basically ended "Midway Blitz" not so here so far.

There are actually a lot of people in Minneapolis who’ve been afraid to leave their homes these past 3 weeks. So they haven’t left. And so they’re not working, grocery shopping, or getting medical care.

This doesn’t get talked about enough.

The old domestic political (and probably international) order is dead and gone, and anyone not incorporating this as his or her first principle has failed the most basic epistemic test of the era.
It’s like if Teapot Dome, Watergate, Kent State, Credit Mobilier, and Iran Contra had all happened in the same week.

okay but in this case what if in this case harm reduction means abolishing the machinery that places this baby in a detention facility and booting politicians who think you can compromise on people’s rights

This child looks devastated. We know from the courageous actions of his fellow detainees (his “fellow detainees!” He’s five!!!) in Dilley that there are others like him.

I honestly don’t care if maximalist demands are bad strategic politics. We should make them because they’re important moral ones
Just visited with Liam and his father at Dilley detention center. I demanded his release and told him how much his family, his school, and our country loves him and is praying for him.
