NEW: ChatGPT and other chatbots are feeding users' fixations on real people, reinforcing users' delusional ideas and obsessions about others as they descend into unwanted harassment, stalking, and/or domestic abuse — traumatizing victims and profoundly altering lives.

Now that pushing protein is trendy again, I’m starting to see proponents of the “Brewer diet” (& its variants) crop up in online birth communities again.

As a preeclampsia expert I need to reiterate that eating more protein will NOT prevent or treat preeclampsia.

Wuthering Heights to me is a ghost story about haunting and deeply felt loss.

In the same vein, I love white-ground lekythoi, particularly those attributed to the Achilles Painter (5th c BCE). The aching impossibility of contact across the veil of death is brutal.

Folks should remember that the DOJ is releasing selectively and consider what this release intends. Trump covers crime with scandal. He'd rather be seen as a mocked man having consensual sex than as a rapist and pedophile. Epstein would rather be seen as a snarky gossip than a pedophile trafficker.

I see it’s time for people to hate on one of my favorite books 😭

I don’t care if they’re horrible people and you don’t like reading about horrible people! You can’t take my love story about two psychopaths away from me!

It's like ICE is completely ignoring every lesson that moderately competent police forces are forced to learn, like "don't do high speed chases in densely populated areas with low risk targets"

Trump created something they call:

"BABY JAIL"

There are hundreds of preschoolers, toddlers & babies in this "BABY JAIL!"
HUNDREDS!

And it's all being paid for on your dime, with your taxpayer dollars & being done in your name!

Imagine the trauma, the harm, the abuse!

BABY JAIL!

Ein toller, viel zu jung gestorbener Künstler. Es hat Spaß gemacht, sich mit ihm zu beschäftigen. Mein Werk wurde anders und kleinteiliger als ursprünglich geplant, hat deshalb etwas gedauert.

Devastated to learn that Univ of Texas at Austin is closing the American Studies dept. The years I spent there earning my PhD were formative, making me the teacher, thinker, and writer I am today. I've passed on what I learned at UT to thousands of students over the past 20 years. Just awful.

#WorldHippoDay 🦛 A stunner! Weight in the form of a Hippopotamus head beautifully carved and polished to a silky luster, c. 1540–1296 BCE (!), #Egypt

The flat underside provides a surface on which to rest the object. 📜

It's just a little guy: 2.2 x 3 x 4.2 cm, 62 grams.

Let's celebrate with this #Egyptian carving of a Hippo, made 5.000 years ago from calcite.

Hippopotami were associated with life, regeneration, and rebirth.
