I’m really noticing the concerns @soatok.bsky.social raised last yeat, NFC sold out instantly, LVFC is sold out of rooms 6+ months before the con.

Its exhausting. So cards on the table friends: after NFC, i’m only going to cons where I have a confirmed spot in the main hotel.

Read that number again. Only 43 families in a school with 160,000 students.

Even if we're generous with the number of kids these families have, that number still pales in comparison to how many families had NO issue with LGBTQ+ education.

We outnumber them. Stand strong.

Yes, this means that they’re going to be lots of cons I’m gonna be absent from.

I’ve gone to 15 of these things and I have NEVER been able to draw a main room. I’m tired of the song and dance of trying to nail down a room by begging somebody or playing the off-block game.

This is what I’m going to do: for a given con that I’m interested in, I will apply. If I am fortunate to get a room in the main space or at least right next-door to it; or I have a friend who is willing to confirm a spot for me, I will be there.

Otherwise, I simply won’t go.

If you’re a friend of mine and you want to know if I’m going to be at a con: I will still apply. But if I or a person who is willing to host me doesn’t have a main spot I will not be there.

An “immigration judge” is not an actual judge in the judicial branch. They are a DOJ employee.

Detailing the reality of ICE and immigration enforcement, Young wrote:

ICE has nothing whatever to do with criminal law enforcement and seeks to avoid the actual criminal courts at all costs. Even so, it drapes itself in the public's understanding of the criminal law though its "warrants" are but unreviewed orders from an ICE superior and its
