I received a question on Tumblr about the origin of the term "The Dreamfaders", which Waiohana (the sharkfolk) used in the past to refer to humans in the story, and I was inspired to do a few things.

Its origin is attributed to an old legend about the discovery of an enigmatic fossil. 💀✨
The illustration depicts a human skeleton curled up in a fetal position, carefully preserved in a small grotto adorned with arched ornaments. A fish-shaped incense burner emits a greenish smoke around it. The human fossil appears to be worshipped by the sharkfolk as a ceremonial object with mystical properties.

Drew a Hound of Tindalos from a short story by Frank Belknap Long, released in a short story collection of his work in 1946.

The hounds are creatures that exist outside of time and space. They can emerge in the form of smoke from any angle of a certain sharpness, like the corner of a room.
a creature like a flayed hound, with a skull like a cow. it has two glazed blue-white eyes on the visible side of its head, suggesting two more on the opposite side. its drawn mid stride out of a bank of fog or mist, its back legs lost in the miasma, or forming out of it. it has four visible legs on the front end of its body.
