Audience culture is the worst it's ever been, I swear to god. People forgot how to act. I'm at the theater, trying to enjoy my show, which I've paid GOOD MONEY for, and these two old assholes are in the balcony heckling the life out of the poor bear onstage. Not letting him finish a single joke.

Also on this X-Files rewatch: lots of conspiracy talk that ended up becoming prominent decades later. I was a teen when the show originally aired, and I'm never sure how much this was a real conspiracy theory back then, but vaccinations are government trackers and FEMA is going to rule the US.
Possibly the biggest issue with the X-Files structurally is that Darin Morgan wrote a few excellent episodes that pushed back against the conceit of the show and then everyone else wanted to.

Here's my two cents on the piracy discourse this morning. Reading everything this morning, I remember those old FBI warnings at the start of videos: piracy isn't a victimless crime. 🧵

Since piracy is the topic of the day, if you really cannot afford books, and there's no library option (whether because its an indie book or there's no library with it near you)...Review them! I was getting books shoveled at me when I reviewed regularly for Grimdark and Before We Go.
