Star Wars is nothing without the emotional connections that the characters have with each other. The visual spectacle, SFX and fight sequences, should serve the story, but without the human element, if I don’t care about the characters, none of that matters.

RIP Jane Goodall. I feel like it's shortchanging her legacy to focus only on her work with chimpanzees when her compassion extended to ALL animals. One of the best ways you can honor & continue her legacy is to incorporate more plant based meals into your life. ❤️ news.janegoodall.org/2017/04/28/w...
Why I Went Plant-Based (And Why We Should All Eat Less Meat)
Dr. Goodall went plant-based after confronting what that meat represents: pain. Since, she learned more reasons why the work to #eatmeatless is important.

Rest in peace, Jane Goodall 🕊️ 🤍
Your voice reshaped how we see animals and the way we treat them. Your grace pushed the human race to do better. I only wish more of us carried the heart you did.

I’m so disillusioned by how easily institutions and people willingly roll over to fascism. How little fight there seems to be in the face of it. All in the name of what? Maintaining whatever semblance of the status quo seems to be left? I want to scream.

And this is just what Disney does. They’re spineless, kowtow to bigots, and their moral compass is attached to their pocketbooks.
Why are we surprised? They canceled other Star Wars shows when enough "fans" complained about there being women in it. Sorry, I mean because the ratings were low or it cost too much or something.
Crazy that the network that just fired Jimmy Kimmel for speaking the truth JUST won an emmy for the writing of an episode that says "of all things at risk, the loss of an objective reality is perhaps the most dangerous. The death of truth is the ultimate victory of evil."

It’s interesting how we’ve gone full circle from comedians saying they’re not allowed to joke because of “woke” and people are “too sensitive” but now they’re being canned by a Republican government.
Somehow, comedy is no longer legal again.

if Jimmy Kimmel's political humor is too hot for you to handle, I'm not sure "snowflake" even cuts it as a term of derision for the level of fragility you've achieved

I wrote up a little bit more about how Prince took some inspiration from Redford & Streisand in "The Way We Were", and then how that led to a fun conversation with him about intellectual property. (There's a little gift for you at the bottom of this post, too.) www.anildash.com/2025/09/17/a...

"I'm sure his words were taken out of context" should always be met with "in what context are their words acceptable to you?"

Keep pressing people that what's being said/done is unconscionable under and context and trying to excuse them reflects badly on the listener.

Last night was my first time seeing Prince’s ‘Sign o’ the Times’ in theatres. In fact, it was my first time seeing any Prince film in theatres. Although I’d seen the film countless times, this was a whole ’nother experience. He was a brilliant, one-of-a-kind, visionary, musical genius.
