100 Nights of Hero was very pretty and had a lot of very pretty people in it, but its ~themes were built around just the worst kind of nonsensical cartoon misogyny.

Finally saw #WakeUpDeadMan

Really enjoyed! 😁 (especially the unexpected Jeffrey Wright 🤭)

Be nice if we could own physical copies of all three of these movies, Netflix 😑

it is in fact not on my TV because I'm mad at Netflix, but if it's on yours you should definitely watch! one of my fave mainstream/"broad appeal" movies of the year. (Sinners is the other one.)

i think the other thing that's going on here that the primary players don't want to talk about for obvious reasons is that shutting your state out of the House Democratic Caucus entirely is a really bad idea if you think Dems are about to take the House.
Republican Indiana State Senator: We don't want to be redistricting every 2 years at the whim of the president. It makes the legislative process just too transactional.

Bookshop.org is great! Highly recommended!
Hey friends, if you're buying books this holiday season 1) consider using bookshop.org instead of Bezos' Orphan Crushing Machine and 2) consider using this referral link to get 20% off. I've used bookshop for years and love everything about them.

I would have been somewhat less surprised by that movie if I'd realized Bryan Fuller made it. What a ride.

Also, congratulations everyone who made something this year. A comic, a song, a film, a novel, a painting, a poem, a short story, a sculpture, crochet, embroidery, whatever it is. In this era of slop and theft, if you *make* something you are a shining jewel and I am so grateful for you.

Indiana’s Senate has voted AGAINST the GOP gerrymander that’d have locked in a 9-0 map.

This keeps the 7-2 map in place, saving two Democratic seats heading into 2026.

The vote failed big, 19/31.

The MAJORITY of the GOP senators opposed it!

I think I'm going to try to see Dust Bunny and Silent Night Deadly Night this weekend. And maybe something at the indie theater? It's been a long stretch with nothing I've wanted to see, but finally movies are coming out again that look like fun.

This Georgia flip is in a district that the GOP drew to drown Democratic voters in Athens into a neighboring red county, Oconee.

But tonight, Dems in Athens were out in FULL FORCE to swamp that gerrymander.
