I'm sitting here digesting the word about Amazon shoving AI into its kindle books... with no way to opt out.

I'm picturing the struggle for so many little authors, for many of whom Amazon was the place where they were most likely to get seen even once.

Caught my neighbor's fantail pigeon making a very graceful 'walk' across a roof top solar panel, that was mostly her sliding halfway down then restarting.

Had to draw it, since she went back to her coop before I could get my phone to record it.

Man I know I'm not dumb, I have read some dense, lore heavy books but I think I'm gonna DNF Gideon the Ninth. It's not a bad book and I know I'm late to the party but trying to read it feels like I'm watching inside jokes fly past and I only know enough to know that I'm missing something.

1. For at least 10 years, Pepsi has conspired with Walmart to force up grocery prices. That’s the shocking evidence made public today in an unsealed FTC lawsuit. The suit was abandoned in May by the Trump FTC just before it was to be un-redacted. We went to court to get it unsealed & won.

I'm begging any artists still using Twitter claiming it's integral to their work to just leave. It's been revealed the site works off a made up "credit score" from hell and punishes you for posting like a normal human being.

Abandon Twitter for good. It's time. It's been time.

An old garden gate. One of many I come across on my walks - but this one stopped me in my tracks.

I wonder what treasures and adventures lie behind the gate, and beyond those steps? I think I might start paying more attention to old garden gates...

The fact that four hostile drones tried to hit Zelenskyy’s plane & it’s barely a blip in the news cycle should terrify everyone. We’ve been dragged so deep into the chaos era that an attempted strike on a world leader doesn’t even break through. When this becomes normal, the world is in real danger.

It's a couple days early but CLOSE ENOUGH.

And should always be reminded that this shit is only barely a hundred years old, or even just under that. It was not that long ago.
It was only a little more than a hundred years ago when the US government dropped Mustard Gas on striking miners in west virginia.

Absolutely wild to run into an ex friend and ex coworker (same person) while out with littlest for some new clothes yesterday. Thankfully we were leaving and he and his family were entering. He exchanged vague pleasantries and stared at me like I might strike like a cobra. Wild given our last talk…
