After two years following work toward this, I can finally report that more than 40 duty lawyers are taking industrial action over pay rates in January.
It’ll include 80 per cent of those in Auckland District Court.
Duty lawyers act for those charged with criminal offences who don’t have lawyers.

There has always been a type of person who becomes a journalist because they want to get next to power or success or fame. It is dumb to be reflexively cynical and suggest that that is all, or most, journalists. But they're the dangerous ones, and what's frustrating is, they're not hard to spot.

The UK government has announced that it will BAN exploration of new oil and gas fields.

Another win for sustained people-powered campaigning to end fossil fuel dependence.

(And shows again how far out of touch the NZ Govt is with its move in the opposite direction)
