Me: Ok, it's been six months. Now we need to push for good policy.

CFs: No. He knows more than we do. We have to trust him.

Me: Ok, it's been a year. He's clearly not implementing good policy. We have to push back.

CFs: No. Wait until the next election.

Like I honestly don't care whether or not a politician thinks I'm "really" a woman or whatever. I care that I'm allowed to access healthcare that I need. I care that I shouldn't be discriminated against on the basis of being trans. "Hurr hurr what is a woman?" is a troll question.

"Can a man become a woman?" is not a question anyone asks in good faith as it's a complete misunderstanding of what being trans is. Absolutely a GOP op.
Just so everyone understands, this was a Republican op

Instead we embraced further illness.

Being hoodwinked feels bad.
Knowing you probably have injured, disabled or *illed someone bc we were fed clever believable lies is really unsettling. Yet, we are going to have to come to terms (terns?) with it. We can't let the psychopz numb us into paralysis. We must stand up & make things better
It's time for a @1goodtern.bsky.social crosspost:

"Why is everyone so terrified of the truth that covid infections cause cumulative damage?"
Anyone know the latest intel on a free, secure, easy to use cross-posting tool that does a good job of posting between X and here? Let’s see if it’s possible to make this easy for a favorite COVID advocate who’s also somehow both a seabird and a priest.*

It's like an Effed up Tarantino movie about German WWII Nazis, except it's an American daily reality about ICE Nazis.
The story of the agents who ate at a restaurant and then WENT BACK AND ARRESTED THE EMPLOYEES LATER is so fucking against basic human empathy that it makes me nearly black out with rage. I don’t know what to do with that information, that someone would do that.

This is the sort of thing that defines fascism more than most other aspects. The installation of secret police to monitor everyone for suspicion not of doing anything wrong, but of being the wrong kind of person.
I’m not sure people outside the Twin Cites realize the prevalence and the fear ICE is causing in Twin Cities. They are dining undercover pretending to be couples at restaurants, they are going to businesses and checking the license plates of cars to find employees. Every public place is compromised.

Humans. We suck?

We see a threat, then wait for social cues about if we should respond to it. Then, before the threat is addressed in a meaningful way, we ignore it when the world's richest people tell the rest of us to ignore it and get back to work in a way that makes billionaires more money.

I find it really really hard to keep up with more than one social media site... I have a full time job, a family, and, you know, a life, so I don't post here much... but I'm going to try to share a bit more.

*Reminds me I still think with some work this could possibly serve as a good TV show or mini-series premise. Pastor by day, virus/disease hunter at night, with a family. Or perhaps an animated version with an actual seabird. All proceeds would go towards COVID & Long COVID awareness, etc.

Its not that the media is not covering what is happening, but it does feel like the military occupation of an American city should be treated as a national crisis.

The homeowner requests a warrant repeatedly, is told they don't require one, then is told they're getting it, then the agents storm in anyway
