Love a good beard, but sometimes different normals across adjacent meshes give you an unwanted one. Here's how to fix it with @blender.org and the DataTransfer modifier. Add the modifier to one of the meshes and have it target the mesh with the normals you want to copy. Fixed! #gamedev #gameart

Pinterest is both a source and destination for Gen AI. As time goes on, it will become less and less useful due to Gen AI inbreeding. It’s already become way less useful to human users because the vast majority of search results are AI.

The whole sales pitch for Gen AI is comical: a product to do a poor approximation of a thing the customer didn’t care about enough to learn. I’m sure they’ll be eager to pay for that thing that lets them do a lot more of that thing they have no passion for.

This was a tricky workflow for lighting. The environment cameras had their own lighting and colour grading stack, and then the tabletop had its own sfx stack, and even if you put them all in the env scene to decorate, it never looked exactly like in-game. Lot's of trial and error. #gamedev #gameart

Did this on a whim and wasn't sure if individual foot shadows would make any difference. Originally, I tried to darken the big blob to make it more obvious, but it only looked good in some environments and bad in others. The individual foot shadows gave me what I needed everywhere. #gameart #gamedev

Sometimes I look at simple designs and I still catch myself thinking "obvious". I know better. Things that feel right can also feel obvious, and it takes a lot of work to make something that feels that right. #gamedev #gameart

Wish I had actively maintained connections when migrating to bsky. I was so disgusted with twitter/x that I stopped using it and then only dipped my toe in here. If you’re still on there because you’re afraid of losing that network, coordinate the move with them. They’re leaving anyway. #gamedev

We definitely don't hate Elon Musk enough. I'm serious. There are, at most, two or three people more responsible for the current state of the world than that man. He should be persona non grata everywhere. Instead we pretend he's some kind of strange genius. He sucks.

Last night, CTV National News parroted the US administration’s description of both Renee Good and Alex Pretti without telling viewers that there was video evidence disproving those narratives. When news orgs are willing to do things like that, it makes me question their other reporting.

Agreed. I saw the videos and this thread plus Bellingcat’s (linked) is a better way to catch up with what happened with the murder in MN. Just awful.
I recommend not watching the videos, which are chaotic and gut-wrenching, and instead going through Bellingcat's analysis.
This man appeared to be zero threat, while the officers were overly-aggressive, agitated, and clearly primed to used lethal force.

Multiple federal agents can later be seen struggling with the man who is shot. One federal agent is seen approaching with empty hands, before reaching around the man’s waist.

It was a Hawaiian blend with hints of hazelnut and coconut (hot and black). Good, but would be better iced in the summer. Also, the nice lady at House of Java recommended some peaberry coffee beans (they don’t split when roasting) that I’m looking forward to trying.
I accidentally spilled hot coffee on my sleeve and it froze instantly 😆. That convinced me I should probably cut my walk short and go back inside. Still a beautiful sunny day in Hamilton Ontario.
