Hahahaha! I have solved the left/right evenness problem. Equally crispy crust along the length. The last thing to do is to figure out how to do this faster so I don’t lose as much heat when I open the door of my cheap oven. The bread at the back is turning out way nicer than the bread at the front.
Two crusty baguettes baked to a golden brown, cooling on a wire rack atop a wooden table. The baguette at the back is an even brown colour while the baguette at the front is darker on its back side.

As wild as it sounds, it seems this might have happened because she is looking for his support.

Fondant potatoes aren’t difficult, present well, are delicious, and not many people seem to make them. Maybe a bit busier than you’d want because it involves standing over a frying pan though (as opposed to a larger prep and bake dish)

I had the same thought about BioShock but naive me thought I was being too cynical until reading about AC.

It would have been interesting for the articles of secession to be featured and a whole bunch of Americans would be shocked to learn that their civil war was explicitly about slavery and not states rights.

It’s illegal to teach elements of black history and the history of racism in 18 US states. There are no federal laws against it, yet, but it feels like it has been a big push for the current administration.

This made me laugh out loud. I’m hoping they were coming from a place of naïveté and not hubris.

Probably also good to remind people that “off the record” should be agreed to by both parties before information is disclosed. Don’t send a journalist information labelled “off the record” that they didn’t agree to receive off the record.

I was surprised that I hadn’t heard and then I saw the article was dated today 😆

I had not heard of that one but the trailer is great. Taking of Deborah Logan took me a while to see because of the dementia angle, but I did enjoy it quite a bit.

That’s so gross. Law needs to catch up with this and the penalties need to be high enough for these huge corporations to pay attention.

I feel like "Meta is generating on-demand CSAM for users" should have consequences or something...

I think there is a segment of the population that can’t recognize loser shit, and just sees this all as strength. They don’t respect the quiet person who takes action, they just think “if this guy wasn’t awesome, he wouldn’t be bragging so much”

I used to live right next to Columbia Skytrain and my biggest complaint just became that it didn’t run late enough. Night busses in Vancouver suuuuucked whereas commuting on or near the train was amazing. Rarely needed a car for anything.

It is absolutely insane that most of the US doesn’t have same-day voter registration. If you can show up to a polling place, learn that your name was purged from the voting registry, and not be able to fix that in time to vote, you don’t live in a real democracy.

On October 3rd, I’m asking you to register to vote.

There’s gotta be a Paul Simon, You Can Call Me Al joke in here somewhere.

Is it “I know you need to keep talking until the door closes so I’m going to wish you a good day and close it now”?

My grandparents lived in Saudi Arabia and the stories stuck with me. My grandmother was doing chores outside listening to the radio. She stepped inside to get a drink and heard a tap on the door. A gardener handed her the radio and said “if this disappeared they, would blame me and take my hands”

I am so curious what other effects it will have on employees. I assume unvested shares will be converted to cash and paid out on the same schedule, but the employee stock purchase plan as well as stock awards were a valuable part of the compensation package for the average dev.

While Montreal has some of the most aggressive drivers in Canada, Vancouver might have the dumbest. At least that is my anecdotal experience living in both cities.
