that being said if you only ever experience one piece of media from this series. any singular piece or chapter or episode or anything. make it the third movie. because it's one of the movies ever made, as opposed to the 4th one which is one of the movies ever made (bad style)

full disclosure i do not watch the mha anime outside of very specific circumstances (eg. if the episode/content is specific to the anime i might seek it out). this is because the anime is visually quite ugly

i mean no disrespect to the talent but i think especially his english dub voice contributes to this like ohhh my god he's always saying some goofy shit in the dub. whether this is an accurate localization is beyond me; he's a lot less... Like that when i'm *reading* his dialogue

deku from the manga mostly just is like, he's very cute and kind of sucks <- affectionate. deku from the anime is a different animal—i kind of want to attack him. this is despite the anime being a relatively accurate adaptation. there's just. a weird disconnect there

i feel like there's something really specific up with mha fans that other fanbases kind of don't deal with at the same level but i can't articulate what the difference is. i think deku (anime) just has an effect on people. not necessarily a good effect. he just has one

i have a freckle on my hand that i thought was dirt for a really long time because it's on the space between my thumb and index finger. just doesn't seem like a freckle should be there. seems like a spot that would get dirt on it
