If you'd asked me which celebrity would posthumously unveil a list of people she wanted fired into the sun, I would not have guessed Jane Goodall

Dr. Jane Goodall filmed an interview with Netflix in March 2025 that she understood would only be released after her death.

Beyond 94 is an interactive website that keeps track of the Canadian government’s progress on Truth and Reconciliation.

How far have we come in ten years?

Not far enough.

the post office is a public service. it doesn’t need to make money. public transit doesn’t need to make money. the library doesn’t need to make money. some things exist for the public good and we desperately need lawmakers to stop thinking about them in terms of capitalism. these are not businesses.

List 3 things you can talk about for 3 hours with no prep.

1) Approaches to K-12 science teaching
2) The manner in which provincial policy on integration of Indigenous ways of knowing, being, and doing in science teaching and learning varies from practice
3) Science curricula in Canada

They should make an international franchise out of Murder She Wrote called Murder She Translated, where Jessica Fletcher's various translators in different countries also happen to solve crimes in their spare time

I asked the historian,
who studies the dark times,
how it has come to this
and she replied:
it’s because we have failed
to take care of each other.

So I asked her
if we will get through this
and she replied:
if we do
it will be because we
took care of each other.

What’s happening to the higher education sector in the States is absolutely shocking and should be a warning to all of us academics across the globe. A warning not to be scared and shut up but to stay alert and ready to uphold and defend our academic freedom.

Today in science methods there was an AHA moment where something they’ve been stuggling with fell into place in an instant and I saw all the lightbulbs turn on. And that is why I do this.

If you don't already teach Dr. Martin Luther King honoring Dr. W.E.B. Du Bois on what would've been his 100th birthday, I recommend it.

King discusses Du Bois's scholarship (like Black Reconstruction), his organizing, his love, and defends his communism.

I’ve gone from “walk-public transit almost everywhere” Montrealer to “you can’t get there from here, need to drive everywhere” more rural resident, and being looked like I’m crazy because “no, I don’t think it’s more wonderful living here when I need 60-90 minutes to take a bus 6km to campus”

“These results suggest that physical activity levels are directly influenced by the built environment and not simply a product of personal preferences or other types of selection effects”

If we really want to make America healthy again, walkability should be a priority

The obvious is official: walkable neighborhoods increase walking. An American large cellphone data study across 1,609 cities shows that moving to a walkable city can increase your daily steps by over 1000.
