Yet another example of negative commercial determinants of health

Sunbeds are known to be especially harmful for young population, increasing the risk of skin cancer by 59%, according to the cancer research agency

And again yet, some governemnts prioritise (commercial) profir over (public) health

Despite regulation, commercial sunbeds remain popular with young people and indoor tanning is experiencing a boom in popularity.

An outright ban of sunbeds is likely to be cost effective for the NHS, says this Analysis

This is figure 5 from Wildfire smoke exposure and mortality burden in the US under climate change. It shows the mortality impacts of wildfire smoke PM2.5 and estimated mortality due to smoke 533 PM2.5 under future climate scenarios.

I agree, Larry. I use it to get an overview of something I am not familiar with. I brainstorm with it. I ask for “brutally honest feedback” with a prompt that makes it challenge my thinking.
But I would not make it generate text from scratch. I have tried and it isn’t helpful.

So climate change is causing people to become allergic to one of the very things that contribute to it? How very fascinating 🤓

Not only is climate change causing ticks to expand their territory, it's also causing an explosion in alpha-gal syndrome, which makes people allergic to eating red meat or using products that come from those animals. A dozen cases in '09 to over 450,000 now. 🧪
