On X I had a thread of bad UK comedy open mic photography: grainy images of partially-lit men in graphic tees performing to speckled upholstery in abandoned pub function rooms.
It was toxic and I know better now. But in defiance of that personal growth I absolutely must rescue this video.

My Top Games (That I Played (Not Necessarily Released)) (In No Particular Order) Of The Year

#1 Valkyrie Profile (1999)

Easily my fav game I played this year. Unmatched vibes: art, music & tone. Apex action-JRPG combat system. Warning: fiddly & player-unfriendly even by ps1 standards.

if youre looking for an expert in british politics you cant do better than someone who is only just learning people don't like keir starmer and is baffled by it.

at my neighbours party, i said "you cant gunge people anymore because of covid" and someone i just met said "you've just said something incredibly stupid and im going to give you an opportunity to retract it" and he was dead serious but i couldnt stop laughing

the burger king by us has added talking therapy to the family menu. whenever i ask "will you use anything in say in these sessions to sell me burgers?" they cough gently and start a new topic.

wrote something about how dark youtube is and why Corrie reminds me of mashed potatoes. it's not festive but it's quite nostalgic, which is close?

the turing test was the original sin. i wouldnt pass it because i write strangely and dont use emojis. now humanity has decided it has built god because it starts every reply with a compliment.

Last weird internet thing of the year.
In two weeks we'll be holding the third annual Fishmas: a competition in which people simultaneously blind-compete to catch the biggest fish in a fishing game to win a free hat.

Happy Fishing!

the amount of coherent contiguous pedestrian routes in the uk that aren't at this moment blocked by skips, vans, weird subsidence or insane curb elevation is less than 5 miles. all of these will fall into holes and be kicked into shrapnel by saturday night pint goblins.
