Gift idea for dads: gloves with touch receptors on the palms and little speakers so that when they slap their thighs/knees in rhythm to the drums in a song they're listening to, it makes appropriate drumkit sounds instead of just meatflapping sounds. Fun for the whole family.

Toadies are a real interesting band. Obviously influenced by Pixies, they've written several songs in a certain idiom (e.g. Tyler, Dollskin) which are magical and great alternative rock. On their third album they wrote Song I Hate in that idiom ("you're the song that I hate, but I can't let you go")
impossible to describe how it felt in the mid-90s when "Possum Kingdom" was on the radio in good rotation, at work trying to mop up the glass/acid spill of a cartload of pickle boxes crashed on the floor while someone screams "Do you wanna die?" from a speaker cut into the drop ceiling.

Just the last thing I want to see as a playable character in a game anymore is this kind of man who is trying to take total control over the city/world for purely selfish power lust. As a boss sure, that's the point of fighting them.
I'm grateful to finally be playing a nice-looking version of R-Type Delta. For some reason these '90s early 3D shooting games really speak to me, and R-Type has always been my favorite STG series. It's difficult inasmuch as you need trial-and-error and memorization and precise movements. But great.

I'm grateful to finally be playing a nice-looking version of R-Type Delta. For some reason these '90s early 3D shooting games really speak to me, and R-Type has always been my favorite STG series. It's difficult inasmuch as you need trial-and-error and memorization and precise movements. But great.
If they're taking the penny away from us, in the hope for a better future on the horizon once this long national nightmare has become a bitter memory behind a society going towards regrowth and renewal and equality, we should sneak in asking for nickels to have pictures of bumblebees on 'em.

It would be nice of Capcom to make a collection of the original Resident Evil 1 + 2 + 3 + Code: Veronica games available at least on the Nintendo Switch family of systems. You could add Survivor as a bonus, but don't break a sweat over it.

JRPG stories always go like this, since the beginning: the evil Dragon Lord threatens the world and almost seems to win until a corageous and fundamentally good hero(es) save the day with the power of love and/or friendship.

Best Buy is killin' it with pre-orders. Dragon Quest I & II is the second consecutive game, maybe third overall, that's been delivered to me prior to the actual release date.

I'm really blown away by this piece, like it should carry the same cultural weight in gaming that Time magazine covers have for public record.

I have tons of feelings about FFT and Matsuno's oeuvre, so I was pumped to hop on and gush (seriously, we talk about WW2 dioramas and namedrop Crimson Shroud and Dungeon Explorers)

Every year since its release, come October I get a yen to play through Metroid Dread. It's become easily my second favorite entry after Super Metroid. I still don't know by heart where everything is and which way to go sometimes 😅 so it hasn't gotten old yet. True 10/10 game for me (Super is 11/10).
