I don’t think the Smiling Friends joke or character was meant to be aimed at or represent trans people.
But there can still be reasonable concerns about transphobia emerging from jokes about cross dressers, as people “pretending” to be male/female has often been the go-to joke at their expense.

Metal Gear Solid Delta is so pretty. Definitely not the kind of aesthetic choices that Kojima would make if he was in charge but a very nice looking game in any case.
