Update: Rhode Island HB 5186 aiming to decrim psilocybin is now effectively dead after having its only public hearing 2/7, and the committee pulling the bill from the docket for "further study" on 2/11.

Decrim has a 100% failure rate when pushed through state legislative bodies. With that said, I'll be watching this one closely, especially if/when this bill passes over to the Senate, which is where previous attempts have stalled in RI.

I don't give credit to the federal government often, BUT, the FDA did a good thing by issuing this alert on the dangers of Amanita Muscaria in food products. This is an vital step forward to protect public health and uphold the integrity of the emerging psychedelic space.

While it’s likely a disappointment for many in CO, the decision to narrow the at home facilitation scope to just palliative care patients is still a MASSIVE step forward for producing new policies to meet specific demographics where they are at.

Hot Take: These psychedelic advisory committees should no longer been viewed as an incremental step forward.

It's time for advocates and philanthropists to get serious about setting up state lvl pilot programs for specific conditions/populations w/ state $ that can show efficacy & cost savings.

This makes the cost of state based psychedelic access programs look like a free lunch program.

THE STATES WILL LEAD on providing legal & affordable access. Not to mention real world research @ state lvl can be done for 1/20th the cost w/ far bigger & more diverse populations.
