Nah, I don't think you're too stupid. I had the same feeling the first time*. I don't think there's a message, it's just really, really well made, with its over-the-top dialogue** and wacky chronology.

Yōtei is madly fun. I think that it's visually just different enough from Tsushima and it feels far less jidaigeki (although that could be my ignorance speaking).

Having said that, I understand the fatigue. It's a game, not milk - it will keep.
