I am pointing this out not because I want to fight or contradict you, or downplay the threat the Trump administration poses. I'm emphasizing this so that root causes can be addressed (Imperial presidency and militarized police state) rather than symptoms (Current trump administration excesses.)

If a person's response to current excesses is not "Abolish ICE" I they are a bad ally who doesn't want to address systemic problems... they just want to go back to brunch and pretend America isn't a fascist state.

If a politician doesn't publicly promise to abolish ICE and pack the court, I will not be voting for them because politicians like them have been the Vichy collaborators who helped get us here.
They may or may not be able to deliver, but if they can't even pretend to care, they are not a solution.

And then he handed this new Executive Branch power to his successor, wrapped in the bow of bipartisanship and SCOTUS approval. The Imperial Presidency didn't just suddenly happen. A half century of bi-partisan policy lead us to masked armed men in our streets kidnapping people.
